History of Jinkfuin Baptist Church
HISTORY OF JINKFUIN BAPTIST CHURCH.
The people who started Jinkfuin Baptist church were formerly worshipping in Belo Baptist church some few kilometres south of Jinkfuin . Jinkfuin then was a prayer group of Belo Baptist Church. A desire arose within the christians as to why they should not make their prayer group an autonomous local church. This was simply due to the long distance the people cover before going to worship at Belo. This suggestion pleased everybody and proper arrangements were made. In 1967 Jinkfuin Baptist church was established.
The first pastor of Jinkfuin was Rev . Ndze who came all the way from Oku, a bordering tribe to Kom Land. He served the church for two years. Next came Rev. Robert Jam, the famous Evangelist who took the gospel of Jesus Christ from the coast his people of the grass fields. He used to come to the church on His horse. He was now an old man and only served the church for one year. He is often called the Apostle to the grass fields. His name is a household word in Kom. After Robert Jam came Rev. Ngoh Joseph. The fourth Pastor was Rev. Daniel Larry. He served the church and left it in the hands of pastor Diom. W hen pastor Diom left the people felt the desire to call back pastor Daniel Larry. They must have enjoyed his services when he was in Jinkfuin, hence the desire to call him back. The seventh pastor was Rev. Bangsi Stephen. He was soundly learned . The people loved him so much but also feared him for his sternness. He never pretends and was always straightforward. The people wept when he told them one day that he was leaving. Pastor Mbuwul Joseph succeeded him. During his tenor of office there was a not very encouraging scandal. He left the church not in very good terms. The validity of the charges against him have not been clearly established. Somebody must have framed him up. What ever the case , it is only God who can vindicate him.
The church remained for sometime without a pastor. Bofuh Emmanuel and Philip Ndah, who had now gone in to full time ministry , were helping the church. It was November 2002 that the church decided to look for a pastor. Teh Francis was called to the church. R ev. The Francis has served the church since 14th December 2002. Jinkfuin Baptist church is his 3rd church. He had served in Wainchia , Ngvinabum, and in Jinkfuin.
Over the years the church has experienced rapid growth. It has a regular membership of over 700. It registers new members every month. They have 4 prayer groups, Balaboh, Ntuyzi, Ndongtu and Jinkfuin Strip. These prayers have weekly sessions , have their own deacons, do evangelism , visit the sick and report emergencies to the pastor.
